CLEVELAND —Joe Girardi said the Yankees could take extra pitchers into the ALDS against the Indians and with Jaime Garcia and Jordan Montgomery on the roster the team announced on Thursday, that’s exactly what they did. In doing so, they sacrificed some depth on the bench, with Clint Frazier, a potential fifth outfielder and right-handed bat, left off, as well as Tyler Wade, who was on the roster for the wild card game for pinch-running duties. Lefty Chasen Shreve also didn’t make the cut. Here’s how the roster looks:

Starting pitchers: Sonny Gray, CC Sabathia, Luis Severino, Masahiro Tanaka

Relievers: Dellin Betances, Aroldis Chapman, Jaime Garcia, Chad Green, Tommy Kahnle, Jordan Montgomery, David Robertson, Adam Warren

Infielders: Greg Bird, Starlin Castro, Todd Frazier, Didi Gregorius, Chase Headley, Ronald Torreyes

Catchers: Austin Romine, Gary Sanchez

Outfielders: Jacoby Ellsbury, Brett Gardner, Aaron Hicks, Aaron Judge
