The Yankees and Guardians square off in the ALDS starting on Tuesday night. The Post’s baseball experts give their predictions on how they think the best-of-five series will play out.
Jon Heyman
The Yankees-Guardians series is a study in contrasts: Big market versus small, rich versus poor, veterans versus newbies, power versus production. But the biggest contrast is in the bullpen: Cleveland’s is the best and the Yankees’ is currently a mess.
Prediction: Guardians in 5
Greg Joyce
The series should feature some strong pitching, which puts a bigger spotlight on the offenses scratching across runs. In October, that usually means hitting homers, in which only one of these teams specializes.
Prediction: Yankees in 4
Dan Martin
This Cleveland team is young, athletic and playing well. But the Yankees have generally feasted on AL Central opponents in the playoffs and this year should be no different.
Prediction: Yankees in 4

The best home-run hitting team in the sport versus the team that struck out fewer times than any other. I’ll go with power over contact.
Prediction: Yankees in 4
Mark W. Sanchez
The Yankees’ power is a good counter to the Guardians’ excellent pitching. One or two swings will change games. Cleveland’s contact-based approach won’t work against a solid Yankees defense.
Prediction: Yankees in 4
Joel Sherman
The Yankees have home field plus depth of talent and playoff experience.

The Guardians are feisty and fun to watch and they are brilliantly managed. The Yankees, however, are simply better in every facet, and they sure do love feasting on the AL Central in the playoffs.
Prediction: Yankees in 4
