Yankees pitcher Phil Hughes threw a bullpen session Tuesday in Tampa, Fla., and if the rest of the week goes well he will begin a minor-league rehab assignment Monday.

“He will be off (Wednesday), throw a simulated game, two innings or 30 pitches Thursday, throw (a bullpen session) Saturday and a game Monday if everything goes well Thursday,’’ pitching coach Larry Rothschild said.
