After taking the weekend off from baseball activities, Derek Jeter got back on the field in Tampa on Monday.
GM Brian Cashman declined to go into details about Jeter’s progress other than to say he didn’t do anything on the field Saturday or Sunday, but Jeter did take 21 grounders at shortstop and nine more on the grass.
He also took five rounds of batting practice and ran in the outfield.
It was a decrease in workload from what Jeter did last week and there remains no timetable for Jeter’s return after he suffered a setback in his recovery from surgery in his left ankle on March 23.
