Derek Jeter will be having surgery after all.
The Yankees shortstop has elected to have a procedure on his left ankle, which he broke in Game 1 of the ALCS against the Tigers on Saturday night, the Yankees announced Wednesday.
The surgery will take place Oct. 20 in Charlotte and be performed by Dr. Robert Anderson. Complete recovery from the surgery is expected to take 4-5 months.
