With the Angels clear buyers, and the Mets now sellers after the trade of David Robertson on Thursday night, five teams remain on the buy/sell bubble.
1. Cubs: Teams are still expecting them to sell despite their recent hot streak, and they have two great trade pieces — Marcus Stromanand Cody Bellinger.
2. Yankees: Though officially in limbo, they hope and believe they will become buyers. A left fielder, bullpen piece and perhaps a catcher would help.
3. Guardians: The slick operation could do the buy/sell thing.
Brian Cashman and the Yankees could use some upgrades at the trade deadline, but they could also sell. Corey Sipkin for the NY Post4. Red Sox: They’ve sold Kiké Hernandez but may also do a little of each. More pitching would help.
5. Padres: So unlucky (5-17 in one-run games), they are at least considering a sale.
