Baseball America has released its 2009 Prospect Handbook, and both the Yankees and Mets farm systems ranked right in the middle of baseball.

The Yankees were ranked 15th out of the 30 major league teams, a drop of 10 spots from their fifth-place ranking last season. The Mets, meanwhile, were ranked 17th for a second consecutive season.

Look for more info on prospects over the coming days and weeks, as things begin to get going down in Florida as pitchers and catchers report this week. That said, here are the Yankees and Mets minor league rankings over the past six years by Baseball America.
