Jasson Dominguez is now just one step away from the majors, but the surging Yankees don’t seem to have a spot for him when he’s fully ready to return.

Not with production and good health from Giancarlo Stanton in the DH spot, while Aaron Judge and Juan Soto have excelled in center and right field, respectively.

And Alex Verdugo has played well on both sides of the ball after arriving in an offseason trade from Boston.

Without an injury, there may not be an immediate clear path back to the majors for Dominguez, who had his 20-day rehab assignment extended by 10 days on Tuesday and moved from Double-A Somerset to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre as he comes back from September Tommy John surgery on his right (throwing) elbow.

Aaron Boone said getting Dominguez back to the majors is not on the top of his mind, but that the 21-year-old is “incredibly” close to being physically ready to contribute in the majors if any of the Yankees outfielders are unavailable for any length of time.

If that doesn’t happen and the Yankees keep rolling?

“We’ll see,’’ Boone said.

But the manager stressed that it’s not the short term the organization is thinking about when it comes to its top prospect.

“I think Jasson Dominguez is gonna have a great career,’’ Boone said before the Yankees opened a homestand against the Twins on Tuesday. “I think he’s gonna be a cornerstone player for us. I’ve felt that way since the day I [first] saw him.”

Boone said the reports about Dominguez’s rehab have been “really good.”

“His body is in really good shape,’’ Boone said. “His rehab from the surgery til now has gone exactly as hoped.”

Somerset manager Raul Dominguez said the outfielder looked fine while at Double-A.

“I saw him healthy,” he said Tuesday. “He did everything they asked for, throwing to the bases, and he looks pretty healthy, like he’s never had his injury..”

The manager added: “Everybody’s different. Some players, when they get this type of injury, they’re afraid to do things. … I didn’t see that with Jasson. He was doing his natural swing, hitting the ball hard, throwing to bases before BP like normal.”

After playing four rehab games with Low-A Tampa and going hitless in his first two games at Somerset, Jasson Dominguez went 12-for-30 with four homers and a 1.219 OPS in his last eight games at Double-A.

He impressed in his eight-game cameo with the Yankees last September, when he hit four homers before going down with the elbow injury.

Dominguez has played just three games in the outfield during his rehab stint and the Yankees want him to get more time in center.

After signing with the Yankees in July 2019, this is just Dominguez’s third full professional season, and prior to Tuesday, he’d only played nine games at Triple-A.

“He’s in a great frame of mind,’’ Boone said. “He has great physical skills, as well, and I believe in the makeup and the person. When that starts back [in the majors], I know we’re gonna have a really good player impacting us. We’ll see when that is.”
