CHICAGO — Ivan Nova is expected to miss his next start and could land on the disabled list after feeling tightness in his right shoulder.

The Yankees righty suffered the injury facing his last batter in the sixth inning of Tuesday night’s loss to the White Sox. Nova is headed back to New York for tests with Dr. Chris Ahmad.

“We are going to see the doctor. Whatever the doctor and manager say that’s what we are going to do,” Nova said.

David Phelps, who had been filling in the rotation for CC Sabathia, will likely make Nova’s next start. Sabathia is expected to come off the DL to start on Friday.

“Any time there’s tightness in shoulder you get a little worried. That’s how they make their livelihood,” manager Joe Girardi said.

Nova is 11-7 with a 4.92 ERA this season, but has been particularly putrid of late going 1-3 with a 8.59 ERA over his past five starts after getting shelled here Tuesday night.

“I am always concerned about my arm,” Nova said.
