BLUE JAYS: After starting the season 8-1, Romero is 0-10 with a 7.69 ERA in his last 11 starts. In his last start, he walked eight batters in 5 1/3 innings, giving him 87 walks in 155 innings this season. He’s 0-2 with a 6.23 ERA in two starts vs. the Yankees this season.

YANKEES: The Yankees have three pitchers with at least 12 wins (Hiroki Kuroda, CC Sabathia and Phil Hughes). It is the first time they have had three 12-game winners before Sept. 1 since 2006, when Chien Ming Wang, Randy Johnson and Mike Mussina accomplished the feat.
