BLUE JAYS: Laffey lasted just 3 2⁄3 innings in his last outing, an 8-5 loss to the Red Sox on Friday. He gave up three runs, four hits and three walks in his shortest start of the season.
YANKEES: Hughes has been one of the most consistent starters in a Yankees rotation that has been battling injuries. Since June, Hughes has posted a 3.24 ERA. In his last start against the Blue Jays on Aug. 28, Hughes allowed just one run in seven innings.
