YANKEES: After consecutive losses, Nova bounced back in his last start to lead the Yankees to a 5-2 victory over the Blue Jays. In that outing, Nova allowed two runs and five hits over 71⁄3 innings.

RANGERS: Holland had one of his better starts of the season in his last outing. Holland allowed just one run in 72⁄3 innings and had a season-high nine strikeouts. He also retired 22 of the last 24 batters he faced but settled for a no-decision in the Rangers’ 2-1 win over the Tigers.

YANKEES: On Tuesday, Hiroki Kuroda became the first Yankee to throw a complete-game shutout against the Rangers since David Wells, who performed the feat on Aug. 21, 1998 at Rangers Ballpark.
