Andy Pettitte won’t make his scheduled start Sunday after his back stiffened up Thursday night.

“I had a little bit of an issue during the game in Cleveland [Tuesday] more in the center of my back,” Pettitte said Friday. “I pitched through it.”

The lefty said he was able to throw his bullpen Thursday and felt “great.”

That changed when he had a muscle spasm getting off the couch at home Thursday night.

Pettitte and the Yankees are hopeful that he can start on Tuesday instead.

Phil Hughes, whose start was rained out Thursday, will start Saturday, with Hiroki Kuroda starting Sunday.
