Just two days after being optioned back to the Yankees’ Triple-A team, Domingo German proved there are better things in life than pitching in the majors.

In an Instagram post Sunday, German announced he’s expecting a baby boy to join his current family of three. After several photos of German, his wife, Mara, and his daughter, Bella, the 25-year-old can be seen in a video taking a bat to the “ball,” which exploded in blue. He sprinted through the powder in complete elation.

“It’s time to be a child’s father,” German wrote with a blue heart. “Ready and very excited thank you God.”

German, a native of the Dominican Republic, took the loss in the Yankees’ 7-5 Subway Series-opening defeat in The Bronx on Friday.

After the game, manager Aaron Boone said German, 2-6 with a 5.68 ERA, would work through his struggles at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre while the Yankees give Luis Cessa another try in the rotation.

But by the looks and sounds of German in the video, little else matters at the moment.
