And then the fifth inning happened.

The Yankees gave up five unearned runs in the fifth, which tied thei game at 5-5, due to a dropped fly ball by Aaron Judge, a throwing error by Anthony Volpe and a misplay by Gerrit Cole and Anthony Rizzo on a groundball that led to a Mookie Betts’ infield hit led to the Dodgers’ five-run outburst.

Giancarlo Stanton hit a sacrifice fly in the next inning to give the Yankees a one-run lead, but in the end, the Yankees fell 7-6 to the Dodgers in Game 5 of the World Series, ending their season three games short of a title.
