The Yankees would have been thrilled if Hector Noesi had pitched well enough with High-A Tampa to merit a promotion to Double-A before the end of the season.

But not only did the 23-year-old right-hander from the Dominican Republic earn that promotion in early June after going 5-2 with a 2.72 ERA in eight starts for Tampa, he earned a second one to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre yesterday. Noesi was 8-4 with a 3.10 ERA in 17 games for Trenton, striking out 86 and walking 18 in 98.2 innings.

Noesi also was given a spot on the World team in last months’ Futures Game in Anaheim, where he also impressed.
