Just missed

Juan Soto came within a few feet of homering in a second straight game. Instead, he had to settle for a two-run double.

Caught my eye

Infield prospect Jorbit Vivas continued to make his impact felt and catch Aaron Boone’s attention. The second baseman came off the bench to hit a home run for the second time in as many games, flashing some power for a hitter better known for his bat-to-ball skills. “He’s interesting,” Boone said. “Excited to see more of him.” Vivas is expected to see time at third base later this week.
