The lat strains suffered by Luis Severino and, more recently, Dellin Betances, while the right-handers were rehabbing other injuries, has forced the Yankees to evaluate their protocol.

“I certainly have confidence in the rehab staff,’’ general manager Brian Cashman said. “I certainly have asked those questions and we will continue to try to determine if anything is out of sorts. The staff we have has been doing this for quite some time. We’ve not had these types of episodes occur.’’

But Cashman was tight-lipped about any problems they may have unearthed.

“I’m not gonna go through the findings,’’ Cashman said. “I don’t have an answer as far as a conclusion. I’m not gonna provide one. We’ll try to dissect it all.”

Luke Voit and Gary Sanchez remained at the top of the voting at first base and catching, respectively, in the American League All-Star balloting released Monday.

Voit singled in the eighth despite the Rays using a four-outfielder defensive alignment. Voit stroked a 1-2 pitch in front of Kevin Kiermaier, who was near a usual center-field spot.

The first baseman said the Rays employed a similar defense against him during spring training, but it was the first time he’d seen it in a regular-season game.

“Usually they play up the middle, then all of a sudden there was space there,’’ Voit said, noting that reliever Jake Faria is more of a fly ball pitcher than Monday’s starter, Yonny Chirinos, who tries to get ground balls.

Top NBA prospect Ja Morant was on the field before the game.
