DALLAS — Mariano Rivera expects to get results Friday from a biopsy taken on the polyps that were removed from his vocal cords last week, sources told the Post.
The Yankees closer had minor throat surgery last Friday and didn’t anticipate any lingering problems.
“The doctor said it’s nothing serious,” Rivera said last week, before the procedure took place a New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
Doctors told the 42-year-old that he wouldn’t be able to speak for a week after the surgery, but that his prognosis looked good because of the location and texture of the polyps.
“I was worried, but I am a positive [person],’’ Rivera said at the time. “Hopefully it’s good [news].’’
