HOUSTON — Shortly after he lasted just three innings in the Yankees’ 6-3 loss to the Astros Tuesday night, the Bombers optioned Jonathan Loaisiga to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Even if the right-hander had pitched better, he was going to be demoted because CC Sabathia is slated to come off the IL this weekend and start against the White Sox in The Bronx.

One night after getting hit in the groin by a foul tip, going to the ground but remaining in the game, catcher Gary Sanchez was the Yankees’ DH. He went 2-for-4 with a two-run double.

“I could have caught him [Tuesday]. With the off day [Thursday], there is a chance he is the DH [Wednesday],’’ Boone said. “There is a chance he could catch as well.’’

Austin Romine (1-for-3) made his second start of the season behind the plate.

According to manager Aaron Boone, there is a chance Giancarlo Stanton will do some tee work Wednesday, or possibly Friday, and is doing better.

Stanton landed on the injured list April 1 with a strained left biceps.

With Stanton out and Clint Frazier impressing — 9-for-25 — since being recalled from Triple-A, Boone said Frazier can expect extended playing time.

“He will play a ton. Right now he is earning everyday at-bats,’’ Boone said of Frazier. who hit three homers in his previous three games before going 0-for-4 Tuesday.

Luke Voit’s first-inning homer gave the Yankees 22 in 11 games.

Entering the night, the Yankees had hit 21 homers in the opening 10 games of the season to tie club record set by the 1932 Yankees. The Yankees also were third in the majors, trailing Seattle (32) and the Dodgers (24) going into Tuesday.
