The Yankees are adding another veteran arm as a potential bullpen option.
Tyler Duffey is signing with the Yankees, The Post’s Jon Heyman reports, three days after the right-hander opted out of his minor league deal with the Rangers.
Duffey, 31, allowed one unearned run in five innings for Round Rock, the Rangers’ Triple-A affiliate, over four recent appearances. He was released by the Twins earlier this month after registering a 4.91 ERA with 39 strikeouts in his eighth season with the franchise.
In 2019, Duffey posted a 2.50 ERA with 82 strikeouts in 57 2/3 innings, and had a 1.88 ERA with 31 strikeouts in 24 innings during the COVID-shortened 2020 season. He had a 3.18 ERA with 61 strikeouts in 62 1/3 innings last season.

They lost Michael King and Chad Green to season-ending injuries and Zack Britton may not make it back in time this year as he rehabs from Tommy John surgery.
The Yankees signed left-hander Anthony Banda on Sunday to a major league deal. They also signed three right-handers this week to minor league deals: Chi Chi Gonzalez, Jacob Barnes, and Wilking Rodriguez.
