The only thing missing was the pinstripes — and the right trade.

At the All-Star festivities on Monday, Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman fed into the trade rumors and posted a photo with his teammates and fellow All-Stars, Gleyber Torres and Luis Severino — and Manny Machado. On Tuesday, though, the Yankees appeared to be out of the running for Machado with them unwilling to include Justus Sheffield or Clint Frazier in a deal with the Orioles.

Chapman wrote: “You put the caption…”

How about, hopeful teammates?

Aaron Judge was the only Yankees All-Star not featured in the photo, although he’s already made his pitch to secure Machado during spring training, telling him he would “look good in pinstripes” — for which the Yankees had to talk to him because it could be seen as tampering.

It appears that the Yankees players trying to make Machado, the Orioles superstar, one of their own will not work. Baltimore is focusing on NL teams — the Dodgers, Phillies and Brewers are seen as serious contenders to win Machado.

The 26-year-old brought a .315 batting average with 24 home runs and 65 RBIs into the All-Star Game.
