No word if Michael O’Neill has fits of rage after strikeouts or is at his best in the clutch, but he certainly has good bloodlines.
The Yankees made former star outfielder and YES announcer Paul O’Neill’s nephew their third round pick, selecting the University of Michigan outfielder with the 103rd overall pick Friday.
The 6-foot-1 outfielder led the Wolverines with a .356 batting average, scored a team-high 45 runs and stole 23 bases, to go with five home runs and 37 RBIs.
Paul O’Neill tweeted: “Congrats to my nephew Michael O’Neill… Drafted by the Yankees today!!!”
