The Yankees will honor retiring closer Mariano Rivera with a ceremony on Sept. 22 before they play the San Francisco Giants.
Rivera announced in spring training this will be his last season. The 43-year-old has spent 19 seasons with the Yankees, made 13 All-Star games and is baseball’s career saves leader with 641.
He was selected MVP of the most recent All-Star game at Citi Field in New York.
The Yankees say more details about the ceremony will be announced later.
