TAMPA — The Yankees have agreed to a deal with the Brewers that sends pitcher Sergio Mitre to Milwaukee for outfielder Chris Dickerson.

The move creates a spot in the Yankees bullpen for Bartolo Colon, who is battling Freddy Garcia for the No.5 starter spot.

Acquiring Dickerson is an indication center fielder Curtis Granderson may not be ready for the start of the season due to an injured oblique.

Dickerson, 28, has played parts of three seasons for the Reds and Brewers. He is a .267 career hitter with eight home runs in 173 games.
