From here on out, it’s do-or-die for the Yankees.

They failed to show much life in Monday’s 4-2 loss to the Dodgers and enter Game 4 staring down a World Series sweep.

A win at Yankee Stadium will buy them one more game in front of fans in The Bronx, but they’ll have their work cut out for them.

Los Angeles will trot out righty Ben Casparius to open what will be a bullpen game.

The Yankees, though, haven’t had much luck offensively, no matter who they’ve been facing

On the other side, Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman has homered in all three games so far, leading an offense that will be hungry to attack Yankees starter Luis Gil.

Can the Yankees stave off elimination and begin an epic comeback, or will the Dodgers win an eighth World Series championship?

Follow along with The Post’s live updates from Game 4.

The Yankees finally showed some signs to believe in

By Jon Heyman

The Yankees finally won a World Series game, and they did it the way they usually win games. Which is to say they covered any funky plays with big hits — in fact, a trio of monster home runs. For one night anyway, they behaved like the Bronx Bombers, and all was right in the boroughs.

The question now is whether this can continue. Well, let’s put aside the obvious that the odds against them remain stacked a lot higher than Aaron Judge’s current batting average, to catalogue the positive and the possibilities. And yes, there are a few.

While the Dodgers still hold a 3-1 advantage in this World Series after the Yankees’ 11-4 victory, and still generally feel like the better and more buttoned-up team, at least there are a few encouraging developments:

Bullpen’s unreal effort helps brings Yankees back to life in World Series

By Mark Sanchez

Against the best offense in baseball, the Yankees asked their bullpen for 15 outs.

Some drama and surely some exhaustion followed, but those 15 outs were recorded.

On a night the Los Angeles bullpen was dented, Tim Hill, Clay Holmes, Mark Leiter Jr., Luke Weaver and Tim Mayza were the Yankees’ biggest advantage in the 11-4, survival-turned-blowout in Game 4 in The Bronx on Tuesday.

The pressure is all on Gerrit Cole now to pitch like an ace — and make this World Series really interesting

By Joel Sherman

Gerrit Cole did not do the historic ace thing at this time of year and insist on taking the ball with his team facing elimination in Game 4.

Fine.

The Yankees nevertheless won with him as a cheerleader.

So now he must do the modern ace thing. He needs to take the ball on regular rest Wednesday night and get the Yankees on another business trip. He needs to be the reason the Yankees make a little bit of history as they try to make a really big piece of history.

Yankees need Gerrit Cole to pitch like an ace and help carry the Yankees to a Game 6 scenario.

The smaller-scale history is that none of the 24 previous teams who have gone down three-games-to-none in a World Series have even forced a Game 6. The Yankees became just the fifth of now 25 to even avoid a sweep.

Ballgame over, we're going to Game 5

Tim Mayza throws a scoreless ninth inning and the Yankees take Game 4, 11-4. Gerrit Cole is slated to start Wednesday. This series could see a huge momentum shift.

Anthony Volpe and Aaron Judge have a moment

By Christian Arnold

In the midst of a five-run eighth inning, there was a cool moment between Anthony Volpe and Aaron Judge.

After Volpe hustled home to beat out a tag at a plate on a fielder’s choice, Volpe enthusiastically celebrated and was given quite the welcome to the Yankees dugout.

After the celebrations, Judge and Volpe appeared to have a conversation for a moment or two before Judge walked to the stairs.

Considering the game Volpe has had tonight, Judge likely had some complimentary words for the young shortstop.
