Game 2 of the ALDS between the Yankees and Guardians will have to wait.
The game, scheduled for Thursday night, was postponed due to a poor weather forecast and will be made up Friday at 1:07 p.m. at Yankee Stadium.
The change means that while Nestor Cortes will still start Game 2, he won’t be available to start Game 5, if it’s necessary, since there will be no more off days in the series.
The Yankees crew puts the tarp on the field on Aug. 22, 2022. for the NY POSTAfter the teams play Friday at the Stadium, the series shifts to Cleveland for Games 3 and 4 on Saturday and Sunday and possibly back to The Bronx on Monday.
Tickets that were valid for Thursday’s Game 2 can be used for Friday’s makeup.
