The Yankees returned home to their good luck charm Friday, with Bronxie the turtle’s newfound fame on full display.
Joey Gallo, Tyler Wade and Rougned Odor were among the Yankees wearing “Bronxie” T-shirts while taking batting practice. The navy blue shirts had an image of a turtle, with a pinstriped stomach, making the gesture the Yankees do after a big hit.

Corey SipkinThe Yankees entered Friday 8-1 since Nestor Cortes Jr. bought the small turtle at a Bronx pet store last week, as ESPN first reported. Bronxie made the trip to Boston last weekend, where the Yankees swept the Red Sox, but did not cross international borders for their series against the Blue Jays in Toronto.
