The Yankees have another All-Star, though he is replacing a teammate.

Carlos Rodón is headed to Atlanta for Tuesday’s Midsummer Classic, MLB announced Friday, with the left-hander taking the spot of Max Fried, who is scheduled to start his last game before the break on Saturday.

Rather than Fried trying to pitch in the All-Star Game on two day’s rest, Rodón will take his place after starting Friday’s game against the Cubs.

“I got to tell him [Thursday] night,” said Aaron Boone, who will be managing the American League team at Truist Park. “I know he’s excited about it. Just a testament to perseverance and sports and dusting yourself off and getting back up.”

Rodón, who joins Aaron Judge and Jazz Chisholm Jr. on the AL team, is now a three-time All-Star.

This will be his first since signing a six-year, $162 million contract with the Yankees, which began with a brutal 2023 season before Rodón turned things around in The Bronx.

He entered Friday with a 3.30 ERA and 127 strikeouts across 111 2/3 innings and 19 starts this season.

“You’re going to get humbled at some point,” Boone said. “How do you respond? It’s not getting knocked down, it’s getting your ass up. He’s got his ass up. I’m super proud of him.”

Fried pitching in the All-Star Game would have been something of a homecoming for the former Brave, who spent the first eight years of his big league career in Atlanta.

But he will still attend the festivities, before possibly pitching against the Braves in the first series out of the break.
