The Yankees survived.

After a stunning Game 3 ALDS comeback led by Aaron Judge, the Yankees will look to keep momentum going Wednesday night.

Game 4 starts at 7:08 p.m. ET from Yankee Stadium, where Cam Schlittler will start against Louis Varland, who will open what will be a bullpen game for the Blue Jays.

Schlittler had an impressive 12 strikeouts across eight shutout innings in his postseason debut against the Red Sox in the AL wild-card series.

Will the Bombers extend the series and head back to Toronto? Or will the Blue Jays finish off their AL East rival?

Alex Rodriguez eviscerates Yankees’ front office after ALDS loss: ‘Worst constructions of a roster’

By Andrew Battifarano

Alex Rodriguez believes he knows who’s at fault for the Yankees’ season ending before the ALCS. And it’s not Aaron Boone.

The former Yankees third baseman not only defended the Yankees manager but also took a shot at the team’s roster construction after the Bombers’ 5-2 loss to the Blue Jays in Game 4 of the ALDS on Wednesday night.

Rodriguez, talking on the FS1 postgame show, spoke highly of Boone and suggested that the Yankees roster handcuffed the manager.

While he didn’t call out general manager Brian Cashman by name, Rodriguez listed the issues — catcher, designated hitter and first base — he thought were most pronounced and gave Boone tough choices.

Blue Jays troll Yankees in every way possible after ALDS domination

By Christian Arnold

The Blue Jays were “spreading the news” after they defeated the Yankees in Game 4 of the American League Division Series, trolling the Bombers during their postgame celebration by blasting a portion of “(Theme From) New York, New York” in the overjoyed clubhouse.

Toronto emphatically celebrated the series-clinching win inside the visiting clubhouse at Yankee Stadium, referencing the Frank Sinatra hit more than once, starting with Blue Jays manager John Schneider in a postgame speech.

By Mark Sanchez

Heroes and zeros from the Yankees’ 5-2 season-ending loss to the Blue Jays in ALDS Game 4 at the Stadium.

Hero

Cam Schlittler against a bullpen game seemed like a matchup until Johnny Wholestaff was put into motion. Eight different Blue Jays pitchers held the Yankees to six hits and two runs while striking out nine.

Zero

After an excellent wild-card series, Anthony Volpe sunk to 1-for-15 with 11 strikeouts in the ALDS. He chased Strike 3 in the seventh inning and heard loud boos on the way to the dugout. In the ninth, Aaron Boone sat Volpe for pinch-hitter Jasson Domínguez.

The ugly truth that you can’t ignore about these high-priced Yankees

By Jon Heyman

The $320 million Yankees are an October failure once again. No other way to look at it today.

They provided a couple of late thrills, but let’s face it, they finished two playoff rounds short of last year’s team, which got to the World Series but also failed to accomplish the long-standing Yankees goal of winning the World Series.

We’ve softened our standard somewhat since George Steinbrenner passed, and the 2024 Yankees are generally considered a mild success as the only Yankees team since 2009 to make it to the Fall Classic — never mind that their performance was far less than classical once they got there.

But this year is not the same. This year they couldn’t even survive a junior circuit without a juggernaut.
