Opening Day is finally here as the Yankees begin the 2026 MLB season against the Giants.

Netflix has exclusive streaming rights to MLB’s first game of the year, which starts at 8:05 p.m. ET from Oracle Park in San Francisco.

The Yankees are largely running it back from last year’s team that went down to the rival Blue Jays in the ALDS. Max Fried — coming off a 19-win season — will toe the mound for the Bronx Bombers against the Giants and ace Logan Webb.

Will the Yankees start hot or will Webb continue his lights out numbers from last season? Follow The Post’s live updates for the latest Yankees score, news and highlights.

Yankees’ bottom of the order delivers key Opening Day spark

By Dan Martin

SAN FRANCISCO — A year ago, the Yankees led the majors in runs scored mostly thanks to the top half of the lineup.

And with much of that offense back — you know the guys, Aaron Judge, Cody Bellinger, Trent Grisham, Giancarlo Stanton, Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Ben Rice, for starters— the Yankees are expected to produce at a high level again in 2026.

But if there’s one question about the lineup, it’s at the bottom.

On Opening Day, though, the bottom third of the lineup helped spark a 7-0 win over the Giants at Oracle Park.

Aaron Judge has brutal Yankees performance as he faces boos from hometown Giants crowd

By Dan Martin

SAN FRANCISCO — Aaron Judge’s season began with him being booed by the home crowd at Oracle Park during pregame introductions, and then getting it even more prior to his first at-bat.

And his night — aside from the lopsided 7-0 Yankees win over the Giants — only got worse.

Judge, who grew up a Giants fan in nearby Linden, Calif., struck out in the first inning, again in the second, one more time in the fourth and again in the sixth.

Over the course of his second straight AL MVP season a year ago, Judge didn’t strike out four times in a game even once.

‘Run-it-back’ Yankees make strong opening statement with Max Fried leading the way

By Joel Sherman

Oh yeah, the Yankees ran back the kind of team that could still have its ace on the injured list and just have its other ace put up 6 ¹/₃ shutout innings on Opening Day.

That’s right, they ran back the kind of lineup that could produce seven runs despite the best hitter in the world having one of his worst games.

The Yankees, after all, did not run back the White Sox or Rockies. They ran back a team that was playing its best as last regular season ended and tied for the AL’s top record. It is a roster that looks its deepest in years — with a chance to get even better when Carlos Rodón and then Gerrit Cole return.

They used the stand-alone first game of the 2026 season to remind us that last year’s team — even with the disappointing ending against the Blue Jays — was pretty darn good and this one could be better. On Day 1 of the schedule, they were the giants of Oracle Park.

Jameis Winston cracks crab legs joke in wild moment during Netflix Opening Day coverage

By Christian Arnold

Whatever Jameis Winston does during his life, he will never not be associated with crab legs, and the veteran quarterback is always game to poke fun at it.

He did so on Wednesday night during MLB’s opening night broadcast on Netflix when he was a special guest during the pregame show ahead of the Yankees-Giants game.

Netflix had put Winston at the Crazy Crab located on the concourse of Oracle Park when host Elle Duncan asked him if he had paid for the crab legs there.

Max Fried’s gem, second-inning outburst propel Yankees to blowout Opening Day win over Giants

By Greg Joyce

SAN FRANCISCO – The Yankees are known for the long ball and boasting the best hitter in the game.

They got neither a home run nor anything from Aaron Judge and still got plenty from a deep lineup to take down Giants ace Logan Webb and secure their fifth straight win on Opening Day.

In a span of 10 pitches in the top of the second inning, the Yankees went from having no one on to leading by five runs, an instant rally that along with a strong outing from Max Fried fueled a 7-0 win over the Giants at a packed and picturesque Oracle Park.

When the Yankees were charged with running it back this offseason, perhaps there should have been more emphasis on the “run” — as in returning the same lineup that led the majors in runs last year.

By Andrew Battifarano

Barry Bonds, New York Yankee.

It could’ve happened, according to MLB’s all-time home run leader.

Bonds, as part of Netflix’s coverage of Yankees-Giants on Opening Day, revealed on the streamer’s broadcast that he nearly became a member of the Bronx Bombers during his first free agency in 1993.

Jameis Winston feeding Max Fried, Trent Grisham hot dogs

By Bridget Reilly

It wasn't an atypical postgame interview for Max Fried and Trent Grisham.

Following the Yankees 7-0 win over the Giants to kick off the 2026 season, Fried and Grisham were presented with Netflix MVP letterman jackets but another surprise came soon after.

Jameis Winston rolled up with a hot dog cart to feed the two Yankees stars throughout the interview, and he made sure to give them the exact toppings they wanted.

Yankees close out 7-0 Opening Night win

By Bridget Reilly

What a way to kick off the 2026 season for the Yankees.

After a five-run second inning and extending the lead in the fifth, the Yankees beat the Giants 7-0 on Wednesday night at Oracle Park.

It marks their first opening day shutout win since 1967.

Camilo Doval closed it out for the pinstripes on the mound after Max Fried had a scoreless start with only two hits and a walk allowed.

The Yankees play the Giants again on Friday as the second contest in a three-game series.

For the fifth straight season, the Yankees are 1-0, after 7-0 win over the Giants.

Aaron Judge caps off Opening Night hitless

By Bridget Reilly

It just wasn't the night for Aaron Judge on Wednesday.

After four strikeouts on Opening Night against the Giants, the Yankees captain grounded out to third base in the top of the ninth inning to make him go hitless in the season opener.

He is the only Yankee to not get a hit tonight.
