Carlos Rodon delivers in Game 1

Carlos Rodon left his emotion at home and delivered the gem the Yankees need to open the ALCS.

Rodon delivered six brilliant one-run innings as the Yankees held off the Guardians for a 5-2 victory in Game 1of the ALCS.

Rodon struck out nine batters after he promised to avoid the outbursts that punctuated a disappointing ALDS start against the Royals.

With runners at first and third, David Fry is coming to the plate and represents the tying run.

Interference calls goes against Yankees

With a runner on first, Brayan Rocchio hit a ball under the glove of first baseman Anthony Rizzo.

Rocchio collided with pitcher Tim Hill around first base, prompting the umpires to award him second base after a brief meeting.

Rodon allowed a home run off the bat off Brayan Rocchio in the sixth inning but otherwise held the Guardians scoreless.

He's at 93 pitches through six innings.
