TAMPA — A verbal confrontation with a policeman at George M. Steinbrenner Field this week led to the dismissal of Randy Baker, the Yankees’ VP of security in Tampa.
The spat with the cop, that sources say included Baker cursing at the cop, was the final nail in Baker’s coffin.
The irascible Baker, known as “Q-Tip” because of a close cropped head of white stubble, was despised by most of the employees at the facility for his bullying ways and had a laundry list of complaints filed against him through the years.
