PHILADELPHIA — Yoenis Cespedes is making a new fashion statement.
The Mets outfielder has started wearing orange and blue socks that display the New York skyline. The socks were on full display Tuesday night, when Cespedes went 4-for-6 with three homers against the Phillies.
“They are just prettier than the other blue ones,” Cespedes said. “They have the skyline.”
Cespedes said he wasn’t aware until Tuesday that the socks were allowed to be worn in the game.
