Some interesting news out of Texas, where All-Star shortstop Michael Young has told the Rangers that he wants to be traded. The reason? The Rangers are insisting the 32-year-old move to third base to make way for a 20-year-old prospect at short. The reason this is on a Mets blog: Young once played (and can still play) second base, where the Amazin’s currently have an albatross in Luis Castillo. I have serious doubts about Young coming to Queens, mostly because of his huge contract ($16 million per over the next five years). We shall see, though, especially since Young’s situation in Texas appears untenable.
