As the Lakers look to build the rest of their team following the blockbuster trade that landed them Anthony Davis, a certain exiled forward may want to throw his hat in the ring.

A video of 10-time All-Star Carmelo Anthony in the gym conveniently surfaced online Monday, just two days after the Davis trade broke.

Anthony is known to be good friends with LeBron James, but has been out of the league since his time in Houston flamed out after just 10 games last season.

If the Lakers are somehow able to sign a max-level free agent this offseason to join James and Davis, they will likely only be able to sign players on veteran’s minimum contracts to fill out the rest of the roster.

The 35-year-old Anthony, whose career has been rapidly declining since his Knicks exit, would be a prime candidate for such a contract.

Anthony’s illustrious career is void of a championship, and teaming up with James and a Lakers team ready to contend now is a logical last stop.
