Kendrick Perkins has a warning for Stephen Curry: Find a different fight.
Following the pair’s confrontation in Game 2 of the NBA Finals, the Cavaliers big man said Curry should look elsewhere if he’s trying to start a fight.
“I don’t know why people keep wanting to pick battles this way,” Perkins said, via the Boston Globe. “Might want to choose that [expletive] wisely, man, [rather] than [bleeping] with me. I don’t think I’m the problem that they want, though, might want to pick another battle.”
The Curry-Perkins beef started when Perkins didn’t move his legs as Curry attempted a fade-away 3-point shot at the end of the third quarter in the Warriors’ 122-103 victory on Sunday. Curry almost tripped on Perkins’ legs, which caused the two to get into it before Curry walked away.
“I was just sitting there and he landed on my leg,” Perkins recalled about the Curry incident. “And he was standing over my leg, and I don’t understand what people want me to do. He was like, ‘What you on?’ and I’m like, ‘What you mean what I’m on? I’m sitting over here.'”
ESPN reported multiple Warriors were unhappy with Perkins for not moving out of the way, citing the play was especially disturbing considering Curry’s history with ankle and knee injuries. Curry said he wasn’t interested in talking about the incident.
Perkins’ only action this postseason has come in spats with opposing fans and players. During the conference semifinals against the Raptors, Perkins and rapper Drake chewed each other out, with Drake allegedly calling the 33-year-old a “f–king p—y.”
