Chandler surgery today
By MARC BERMAN
LOS ANGELES – The Knicks will now have their last two draft picks rehabbing this summer from surgery.
As I reported in yesterday’s editions of The Post, Wilson Chandler will have surgery on his left ankle today to remove a bone spur, the Knicks announced. Recovery time is 4 to 8 weeks. It’s roughly the same surgery Stephon Marbury had in January, 2008 after playing his last game as a Knick.
Marbury had ankle issues his whole career and the hope is Chandler, only 22, is not headed that path.

LEBRON UPDATE: In news unrelated to whether he will join the Knicks in 2010, King James had surgery to remove a benign growth on his jaw Tuesday – a five-hour procedure. James had known about it for months but postponed it till the end of the season. He figured it wouldn’t be removed till late June.

Both Orlando and L.A. will meet the media today at Staples Center. Thought it was interesting Jeff Van Gundy admitted he could be compromised as an analyst doing the games for ABC and came to the network to give them the chance to remove him. VG is very candid as a broadcaster but for the most part he lays off coaches anyway. Plus, he’s been very complimentary of his former adversary Phil Jackson in prior telecasts. Let’s hope Stan doesn’t mess up big time during the series, leaving Jeff no choice but to bash his brother.
