Draymond Green and fiancée Hazel Renee’s upcoming nuptials may have to wait due to the big man’s fouling habits.
As the couple walked the red carpet at the 2022 ESPY Awards Wednesday night, Renee was asked about her partner’s abundance of technical fouls. The 36-year-old took the opportunity to wail on Green, jokingly claiming the infractions were “money down the drain.”
“There’s the wedding budget right there,” Renee told People magazine. “If anyone wants to know where’s the wedding budget, it’s right there in text.”
Green has garnered a reputation for often topping the league leaderboard for most technical fouls in the NBA – the outspoken Golden State Warriors forward was tagged with 14 last year. As Renee noted, these offenses aren’t exactly cheap, ranging anywhere from $2,000 to $4,000, per Spotrac.
While Green claims to not have a favorite technical foul – admitting “they kind of start running together” – he does hold one in particular close to his heart.

Draymond Green has become infamous for racking up fines. APDuring the Warriors’ Game 1 win over the Memphis Grizzlies in the West semifinals, Green was questionably called for a Flagrant 2 foul after pulling down on Brandon Clarke’s jersey. He was ultimately ejected from the contest.
“The one in Memphis, in the playoffs, I really enjoyed,” Green said. “I enjoyed that one a lot. So that was fun.”
According to Green, those fun feelings quickly died after promptly receiving the bill for his actions, courtesy of the NBA.
“They just pull it from you,” Green said. “You never see it. It’s just gone.”
