DUHON RUES KIDD, HILL SNUBS
Chris Duhon did something a year ago that no one has done this offseason: Sign with the Knicks.
While Donnie Walsh & Co. wait for the vaunted Class of 2010, the Knicks haven’t been able to entice any free agents, most recently striking out with Jason Kidd and Grant Hill.
“It’s tough,” Duhon said. “Obviously, those are two key guys who would have made an immediate impact.”
But both Kidd (Dallas) and Hill (Phoenix) opted to re-sign with their old teams. And with Duhon signed only through this season — and with his minutes likely diminished by first-round pick Toney Douglas — even he has to set his sights on the future.
“You have to think about it,” Duhon said of 2010, when LeBron James other big-name free agents become available.
“But as players, we’ve got to worry about the task at hand. Our goal is to make the playoffs.”
