What a finish, if only we had seen it.

ESPN picked the worst time to cut to commercial during its Lakers-Spurs broadcast Wednesday night. With Lakers point guard Josh Hart driving to the basket and the game tied at 108 in the final seconds, the network briefly went to a commercial. In the second they were away, they missed Hart’s layup bouncing off the rim.

“We inadvertently cut out the game missing a few seconds of action. It was a mistake and we apologize,” ESPN said in a statement.

After the game’s most dramatic moment passed, the Lakers rolled the Spurs in overtime for a 122-112 victory.
