LONDON — There are 2,700 Ladbrokes betting parlors in Great Britain, but not one is taking any action on the Knicks-Bucks NBA contest at O2 Arena Thursday.

Ray, a Ladbrokes betting teller near Paddington Station, told a New York customer: “New York Knicks, you say? We don’t take American football.’’

Told it was the NBA being played a short tube ride away, the teller did some research on his computer.

“There’s going to be no book on it,’’ he said before he recommended putting some pounds on the dog races from Crayford and Romford and the ponies at Fakenham. Ladbrokes also was taking action on Tuesday night’s FA Cup soccer battle between West Ham and Everton.
