Atlanta Hawks veteran Chandler Parsons was involved in a car accident following Wednesday’s practice and was diagnosed with a concussion and whiplash, according to Yahoo.

Parsons was entered into the NBA’s concussion protocol and officially ruled out for Friday’s tilt in San Antonio.

The 31-year-old forward recently discussed with the team being inactive for the “foreseeable future,” as the Hawks continue their youth movement.

It’s the latest injury for Parsons, who has battled wrist problems this season while finishing out his four-year, $94 million max deal. That contract, coupled with his declining production, makes him a more likely buyout candidate than an NBA trade deadline chip.

Parsons has played just five games this season, averaging 2.8 points in 10.8 minutes per.
