Isaiah Thomas is trying to get the last laugh with his former team in the Finals.
While competing against the other Isiah Thomas — the NBA legend and former Knicks exec and coach — in the Generation Gap game Monday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the one-time Cavalier quipped he, too, might get swept, given 57-year-old Thomas dominated 50-0.
Cleveland has dug itself into an 0-2 hole against Golden State in the NBA Finals, with Game 3 on the horizon Wednesday night at Quicken Loans Arena. The Warriors could potentially wrap the series Friday with a four-game sweep.
Thomas, 29, knows the venue well, given he was acquired by the Cavaliers last year in the Kyrie Irving trade. Recovering from hip surgery, Thomas never got his groove back in Cleveland, only appearing in 15 games before being shipped to the Lakers in February.
His season ultimately ended in March, when he opted to undergo surgery on his right hip.
