Jazz All-Star Donovan Mitchell delivered a positive message while updating the public his recovery from the coronavirus.

In a 30-second video posted Saturday to NBA.com, Mitchell expressed his thanks to fans for their support following the news Thursday that he had tested positive for COVID-19, along with Utah teammate Rudy Gobert. They was the first two NBA athletes to contract the virus, which led to the season being suspended until further notice.

Mitchell smiled throughout the video, saying he was doing well while in isolation and spending his time playing video games throughout the day.

“I wanted to say thank you guys so much for your continued support and it means a lot to me,” Mitchell said. “I feel fine. Things are going well. Just taking the proper precautions, you know as told to me by the health authorities so I got to stay in isolation.”

Mitchell had previously written on his Instagram page acknowledging those people who reached out to him following his treatment by health authorities in Oklahoma City after the Jazz’s scheduled game against the Thunder was postponed.

His father, Donovan Mitchell Sr. who works for the Mets as the director of player relations and community outreach, received a negative test for the virus on Friday night. Mitchell Sr. was in attendance when his son and the Jazz played the Knicks at the Garden on March 4.

The NBA has recommended that teams that have played the Jazz in recent weeks, including the Knicks, Celtics, Pistons and Raptors, have their players self-quarantine for 14 days as a precaution.

Mitchell was having his most productive season so far in his three-year career, averaging 24.2 points per game and being selected to his first All-Star game. He said he is looking forward to the possibility of playing again soon.

“I can’t wait to get back out on the floor man and play for the best fans in the world,” Mitchell said. “I really miss playing in front of you guys. I’ll see you guys soon.”
