The New Orleans Pelicans could be ready to move one of their top backcourt players.

Stan Van Gundy’s new team is “openly discussing” trading combo guard Jrue Holiday “and several contending teams are pursuing,” according The Athletic.

The 30-year-old Holiday started 61 games for the Pelicans last season, averaging 19.1 points and 6.7 assists over 34.7 minutes per game. He also was named the winner of the league’s Teammate of the Year award, given for “selfless play and commitment and dedication to his team.”

The Post’s Brian Lewis reported in October that the Nets have had interest in Holiday and his game-changing defensive skills dating back to February’s trade deadline.  According to The Athletic, the Heat and Nuggets were also among the teams that pursued Holiday ahead of last year’s trade deadline.

The 11-year NBA veteran is slated to earn $25.4 million with a player option for 2021-22 worth $26.3 million.

The Pelicans, who fired coach Alvin Gentry after finishing 30-42 and missing the playoffs last season, are planning to build around young stars Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball.
