Kemba Walker has gone from persona non grata to player of the week.

The Bronx native has revived his status with the Knicks following a nine-game benching. He was named the Eastern Conference’s top player last week after averaging 25.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 8.3 assists in leading the Knicks to two wins in three games.

Oklahoma City guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander won the weekly award for the Western Conference.

After netting 29 points on Dec. 18 in Boston in his first appearance in more than three weeks, Walker followed that with a 21-point game in a win over the Pistons. The four-time All-Star guard then erupted for 44 points in a loss last Thursday to the Wizards before registering the Knicks’ first triple-double ever on Christmas with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists in 40 minutes against the Hawks.

Danuel House, one of four players signed last week to 10-day hardship contracts, is out for Monday’s game in Minnesota due to a dislocated finger.

With Immanuel Quickley and Kevin Knox cleared from health and safety protocols, 10-day guards Tyler Hall and Matt Mooney did not accompany the team on the road trip. Hall’s deal expired Monday. Damyean Dotson, who signed on Dec. 21, is still with the team and eligible to play against the Timberwolves.

Miles McBride, Nerlens Noel and Jericho Sims remain out due to the COVID protocols.

MSG Network’s broadcast crew won’t travel during the Knicks’ upcoming road trip beginning Monday in Minnesota. They will do games remotely, according to a source, due to COVID-19 concerns. MSG analyst Clyde Frazier, who missed games this month due to health and safety protocols, already was scheduled to be on a pre-planned vacation to St. Croix where he makes his offseason home.
