Captain Klay Thompson drove his boat to the Warriors parade in San Francisco on Monday, but showed up without his 2022 NBA Championship hat.
Thompson’s cap flew off his head while on the water, and he captured the moment in an Instagram Live video.
“Parade Day,” Thompson shouted in the clip, before reading a comment: “RIP hat.”

“Keeping it real goes wrong people,” said Thompson, who showed off the view of the ocean on his way to the parade. “That why you gotta strap it in tight. The captain’s is nice for that. No, gosh. Dang it, Ah that hurts.”
Thompson can likely get a new championship hat from the Warriors, but it won’t be the same cap he rocked to the team’s post-game celebrations following a 103-90 win against the Celtics in Game 6 last Thursday in Boston.
“I’m just thankful to be here man,” Thompson said after he finished with 12 points, five rebounds and two assists.

The Warriors won their fourth title in eight years after missing the playoffs in two straight seasons. The team took over the streets of San Francisco Monday to celebrate their latest NBA championship.
