The Knicks have their free-agent duo.
The team agreed to a two-year, $20 million with forward Taj Gibson on Sunday night, according to ESPN. He joins fellow power forward Julius Randle, who landed a three-year, $63 million pact, as the Knicks’ first two free-agent signings. This day was believed to be about Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving heading to the Knicks, but that duo chose the Nets instead.
Gibson has played 11 NBA seasons and averaged 10.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game in 24.1 minutes for the Timberwolves this past campaign.
