The Knicks awarded a male fan $1,000 in lottery scratch-off tickets Friday for hitting a half-court shot, according to ESPN, which left some surprised — especially after the same shot netted someone $100,000 at a Lakers home game last week.

The Knicks, who lost to the Pelicans on Friday, previously offered a $10,000 prize for hitting half-court shots, which happened at least once last season.
